HP DreamColor Architect Greg Staten joins Steve Waskul in the StudioXperience Broadcast Studio at SIGGRAPH 2018. During this interview Greg talks about the state of the industry including HDR, 4K, 8K and VR display technology.
About Greg Staten
Greg Staten joined HP’s Displays Engineering team in the Fall of 2008, relocating from New England where he was a Senior Product Designer for Avid Technology’s Media Composer and Symphony digital film editing systems. Greg is currently the DreamColor Solutions Architect and is known around the group as “the color critical expert” and oversees the DreamColor displays, including those in release and in various phases of development.
Greg is a customer-facing engineer who directly works with customers in the film, visual effects, and animation industries, not only helping them with their current workflows and requirements, but also designing future products that will fit their evolving needs. A graduate of Rice University in Houston, Greg is a native Texan who has a passion for film and fine food, and enjoys spending time with his two young children and wife.
