SIGGRAPH 2019 overall conference chair Mikki Rose talks with Steve Waskul in the StudioXperience Broadcast Studio at SIGGRAPH 2018. During this interview Mikki talks about her long experience with the conference and her team’s efforts to bring the latest and greatest in animation and visual effects, virtual and mixed reality, artificial intelligence and machine learning to SIGGRAPH 2019. Mikki also explains how she will put her own mark on the conference as overall chair and how community, sustainability and spectacle will be key features.
About Mikki Rose
Mikki Rose is a hair and cloth specialist who works in visual effects and animation for feature film. Mikki’s credits include a wide range of films including Ferdinand, Ice Age: Collision Course, The Peanuts Movie, OZ the Great and Powerful, Hotel Transylvania and Men in Black 3, just to name a few.
Mikki Rose holds BS degrees in Computer Science and Digital Animation from Middle Tennessee State University as well as an MFA in Digital Production Arts from Clemson University. Prior to Blue Sky, she lived in California and held positions with Rhythm & Hues Studios and Sony Pictures Imageworks.
