Tim Miller co-founded Blur Studio where he now serves as Creative Director and President. During this interview Tim talks with Steve Waskul about the studio’s projects and the technologies utilized by Blur in their production workflow. Tim Miller is an American animator, film director, creative director and visual effects artist. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for the work on his short animated film Gopher Broke. Recently, Mr. Miller made his directing debut with the box office smash Deadpool. Tim is also famous for creating opening sequences of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Thor: The Dark World.
Tim Miller and visual effects supervisor David Stinnett opened Blur Studio in 1995. Their main goal was to craft visually striking and engaging narratives – an ambition that remains true to this day. With extensive experience in motion capture, a driven team of directors, producers and artists, and a character workflow to bring any creature imaginable to life, Blur has created intergalactic sequences for “Avatar,” critically acclaimed game trailers, and massive campaigns for brands like Toshiba and Pepperidge Farm’s Goldfish Crackers.
